A méltóságos kisasszony

Monori Horváth Zoltán, an extremely wealthy but now sick old textile factory-owner would, he thinks, take comfort from his son, Gábor, an underpaid young scientist, becoming a saver of the family fortune rather than that of mankind. For the young man, who is addicted to scientific research, to become a textile factory-owner would be absurdity at its worst. If the choice is between factory and bacilli, be it bacilli, for which he is disowned by his father. This is how he ends up in the house of the rich Bartos family as a teacher. He falls in love with Bartos Lilian, a beautiful woman. She is a spoiled, conceited and young woman who keeps the distance, giving him a cold shoulder, although she is attracted to him, a feeling she apparently hides. Gábor saves his father from death, using a substance he has invented, then, risking his own life, saves the life of Gyurika, Lilian's little brother, who falls into a pit during a snow storm.
