Księżniczka Selina jako jedyna ocalała z katastrofy samolotu. Uznana za zmarłą, niespodziewanie dociera do Japonii, gdzie opiekę nad nią powierzono detektywowi Shindo. Księżniczka twierdzi, że pochodzi z Marsa, którego cywilizacja została zniszczona przez potwora Ghidorah. Tymczasem profesor Murai i jego ekipa badają olbrzymi meteor, który niedawno spadł na ziemię. "San daikaijû: Chikyû saidai no kessen" is a groundbreaking film in terms of storytelling, at least within the entire Godzilla series. However, what didn't sit well with me were some of the effects. It's evident that the Japanese played it up for some lightheartedness and inserted a few jokes here and there, but the monster movements are not as graceful, and you can see a lot when there's a human in the lizard suit. It's a bit surprising that the same legendary Eiji Tsuburaya is still doing the tricks. However, it's still excellent monster entertainment for kaiju film enthusiasts. And not just for them.
