I enjoyed the anabasis with Tarabas. It's a proper counterpoint to Romualdo and ultimately more interesting. But the overall story is too drawn out and it's necessary to bring back different characters only to spend three hours figuring out how to bring Romuald back to life. And lo and behold, in the end, they pull it off.
