A modern day restoration comedy. Based on a true story, this is an uplifting and irreverent comedy that tells of pensioner Cecilia Gimenezs infamous restoration of the Ecce Homo fresco in a church in Borja, Spain. Her enthusiasm and heavy hand succeeded in transforming Jesus into something more monkey-like. The locals were horrified but the fresco quickly attracted worldwide media – and tourists with Euros – to the remote village. The English manned up again and also within short movies they found a topic absurd enough to be turned into a movie. You see, this is a truly funny story based on real events, where you have no other choice but root for the heroine. And it’s worth it to give her half an hour of your time.
