Detective Gary Hyde is on his way to his son's tenth birthday party when he and his best friend and fellow detective, Nick Petrides are called to a homicide. It's routine until the murder victim's van explodes, killing Nick instantly. Gary breaks the news to Nick's pregnant widow, Angela, and vows to find whoever is responsible.
