To właśnie życie to międzypokoleniowa saga, ale przede wszystkim celebracja życia, ze wszystkim jego komplikacjami, z całą jego słodyczą i goryczą. Poznamy Willa (Oscar Isaac) i Abby (Olivia Wilde), którzy zakochują się w sobie, po czym biorą ślub i przygotowują do narodzin ich pierwszego dziecka. W niezwykły, zupełnie nieoczekiwany sposób los połączy ich z Dylan (Olivia Cooke), dziewczyną, która próbuje poradzić sobie sama z sobą i Irwinem (Mandy Patinkin), opiekującym się córką swego syna. Los złączy ich także z panem Saccione (Antonio Banderas), hiszpańskim posiadaczem ziemskim oraz Javierem (Sergio Peris-Mencheta) i jego rodziną, Isabellą (Laia Costa) i Rodrigiem (Alex Monner). (UIP)

Two families, one story, a billion intertwined moments on which the screenwriter obviously spent a lot of time and effort. As for the filmmaking side, however, one family presents a series of exaggerated emotions while the other family is worse than a soap opera. Too bad, because there are some good ideas in the film. 118 minutes is enough to properly milk the audience’s emotions, and use quite a large number of actors. The problem, however, lies in the individual episodes. Some are okay but others are extremely annoying. And that unfortunately sums up the whole movie. The premise is great, but the overall result doesn’t deserve more than three stars.
