Somewhere in the Caribbean, in a future that never was…thus begins this zany tale of love and time travel. Laura, frustrated and ready to leave the predictable Diego, agrees to one more weekend of sex to rekindle things, but will her macho ex-boyfriend win her back instead? This film is set in a quirky retrofuture complete with campy ads for technology products that seem, like Diego, more failure than success. At the motel where they started their steamy relationship, now abandoned and decaying, Diego tries to win Laura back – again and again and again – all the while comically dealing with their past and future selves. Can he teach his past self how to please Laura and once more win her over? (Cinequest Festival)

I am fascinated how the Dominican Republic made its debut into cinematography. The crew even had such self-confidence to make it huge and come up with a cool sci-fi premise. All right, it denies all the basic principles of the universe, but on the other hand it is very cool and enjoyable. And since the user Enšpígl liked it too, I expect no one in this database will be offended by its craziness. Definitely worth the try. And if you don’t like it, you can at least brag about seeing a movie from the Dominican Republic. And who has such a privilege, right?
