Opisy(1)
Jacques Brel wrote his chansons as Breughel painted. The mist, the low horizon, the wind, the canals, and the cornfields make up a major part of his songs. At Brel's, people drank in the Flemish way, and ate as on a party. All his chansons are evidence of a far-reaching individualism, which is inherent in the tragedy of his life. There is really no longer room in the modern world for solitary heroes such as Brel. This film introduces us to Brel's world by showing archive material, and by following him on an important tour through Flanders: the land that greatly inspired him artistically.
