Opowieść o trudnej sytuacji, w jakiej znalazła się pewna słowacka rodzina. Po wielu latach małżeństwa Milan i Táňa stają się sobie obcy, co najbardziej przeżywa ich 16-letnia córka Lenka. Kryzys jeszcze bardziej się zaostrza, gdy pewnego dnia dziewczyna nie wraca z imprezy urodzinowej. Nikt nie potrafi pomóc zrozpaczonym rodzicom – ani sąsiedzi, ani przyjaciele, ani policja, której działania, jak się zdaje, prowadzą donikąd. Zdesperowany Milan podejmuje więc radykalne kroki... The psychological drama Cellar has a number of shortcomings, including the unpleasantness of being somewhat lengthy. Still, despite everything, it is quite a watchable film. The credit for this goes mainly to the good performances and a certain tension that accompanies the plot. (60%)

Who thought of this? A Slovak movie directed by a Ukrainian director with French actor/director Jean-Marc Barr in the leading role? Interesting. But the truth is I struggled a lot to get used to the youth in this movie. I minded their tough act including the hip-hop music which is decidedly not my cup of tea. On the other hand it had quite unusual, almost mystical atmosphere. For contemporary Slovak production it was more above average than mediocre. But the story was bad and Jean-Marc Barr wasn’t able to elevate it to a higher quality level, not even with all his weirdness.
