W 1984 roku widzowie programu telewizyjnego uznają senne miasteczko Köping za „najnudniejsze miejsce w Szwecji”. Podczas gdy reszta kraju śmieje się w najlepsze, mieszkańcy Köpingu są poruszeni. Jeden z nich, Hans Pettersson (Mikael Persbrandt), nie jest w stanie zaakceptować zniewagi. Postanawia udowodnić wszystkim, że byli w błędzie. When I compare it to The Hundred-Year-Old Man or A Man Called Ove, The Cake General leans towards an equally absurd Swedish comedy. However, the movie gets slightly more normal during its course, which is maybe a bit of a shame, because roughly the middle of the movie was a bit boring. In any case, after the end credits and a confirmation that this was a true story, I’ve eventually decided on decent 4 stars.
