angielski No, I’ve never liked this film, but I can’t tell you why. And I’m also not a fan of the theme song. 40% in honour of the director and the actors. ()

angielski What the fairy tales of nowadays are trying to achieve was already achieved with all due elegance by The Three Veterans in 1983. It is not surprising that it is a legend in its genre. Which fairy tale can guarantee joy for the kids as well as for the adults? It is the story line and the long nose of Princess Bosana that enthralls the kids and it is the amount of great lines that enthralls the adults. Moreover, there are so many actor legends present that we wouldn’t get this number nowadays even with all our actors put together. ()

angielski A fairy tale that I could hardly appreciate as a child, but as time went by it turned out to be an extraordinarily poetic and timely thing that one can watch again at any time. Zdeněk Svěrák opened Werich's fairytale-modernist theme brilliantly through catchphrases, and it was embodied by the central phenomenal acting trio with the assistance of a plethora of great side roles. If we add the unforgettable title song and the kind playfulness left behind from the book, The Three Veterans is definitely part of the golden fund of Czech cinema. And don't forget the Slovaks... with camels! ()

angielski This fairy tale has meant a lot to me since early childhood. I used to look for the schnozz tree in the gardens and sing "No need, no need" to myself. Fantastic lines and great actors. I believe it will remind me of wonderful moments for a long, long time. ()

angielski I basically grew up on this movie and I can't count the number of times I've played it on good old VHS. Just watching Messrs Hrušínský, Čepek and Somr is still a great experience, accompanied by the ageless song "Není nutno" and with the typical Svěrák humour, which is unparalleled in Czech comedies. I don’t like the princess much, but her nose is awesome. ()

angielski Beloved fairytale, mainly because there are great actors in it, it's about human greed and stupidity and about how incredibly difficult it is to fix them, and last but not least, the script was written by Zdenek Svěrák. You can beautifully recognize his play with words, where the verbal humor is simply unique in some places. Thanks to this movie, I fell in love with Rudolf Hrušínský. ()
