Girls of the Sun has a promising start with perfect camera and editing work, but it turns out to be a dime- a-dozen sentimental drama that probably every woman director (with the exception of Kathryn Bigelow) would make the same way from a story about a Kurdish woman whose whole life is destroyed by extremists who kill her father and brother, rape her sister and kidnap her son.
