Lata 80. w Polsce – sam środek ponurego krajobrazu pomiędzy stanem wojennym a Okrągłym Stołem. W niedużym, zapomnianym mieście gdzieś na południowym zachodzie Polski dochodzi do brutalnego podwójnego morderstwa: młodej prostytutki i miejscowego komunistycznego działacza. W tym samym czasie samobójstwo popełnia również para nastolatków. W miejscowej gazecie o morderstwie ma napisać Witold Wanycz, doświadczony, nieco zgorzkniały dziennikarz. Jednocześnie w tej samej redakcji zatrudnia się młody redaktor: Piotr Zarzycki – syn wysoko postawionego działacza partyjnego. Rozpoczyna on na własny rachunek dziennikarskie śledztwo. Im bardziej angażuje się w sprawę, tym głębiej grzęźnie w tytułowy rojst – bagno, z którego trudno się wydostać. (Showmax)

Poland is once more reaching for the European quality and presents a 5 episode long miniseries remarkable by its 80’s atmosphere, acting performances at a high level, where you have to root for two detectives even though there is nothing remarkable about them and added to it all is a murder which is entwined with political intrigues which then open the door to the unknown past of local Polish politicians. For me, it was a great experience.

This series won me over from the very start by how excellently it captured the atmosphere of my childhood. Otherwise, after the first two episodes, I was having doubts because the theme was appealing but the story seemed a little bland and slow-paced. Fortunately, the third episode brought a change, the story picked up momentum and the following two episodes convinced me of a high quality. If you are on the fence after the first two episodes, hang in there, the following three episodes are definitely worth it.
