Bog Hole follows ten-year-olds Jenny and Ingrid on an autumn day in the Northern-Norwegian marshlands. Jenny is secretly distressed, concealing the fact that her father has left her. She just wants to be with her friend and go camping with Ingrid and her dad, just as she has done with her own father. But Ingrid doesn’t really want to share her dad with anyone. When he realizes he has left the tent poles behind and has to walk the long way back to the car, the two girls are left alone at the camp site, heading for a confrontation they can’t run away from.
