The number of bees in nature is decreasing. Paradoxically, bees are the most important pollinators of agricultural plants. This Slovak documentary shows how bee communities, on which humanity is so dependent, function. For centuries, we have learned how to obtain honey and other useful materials from bees. We have discovered that they form a perfect system. Today, beekeepers know very well that bees are not pets, and try to approach them responsibly through natural beekeeping. Many of the issues that these insects have to face today are caused by man. This documentary film, complemented by shots of the Slovak landscape, provides thorough information about insects, which are much more important for humanity than we might be aware of. angielski Man is undoubtedly the most powerful creature on planet Earth – we can destroy everything living around us, but we can also fix and restore everything to its original state. Unfortunately, bees, which are widely used by us, are paying with their lives because of human activity in the field of agriculture. This puts us in a vicious circle: on the one hand, we need bees to pollinate the plants we grow, but on the other hand, we are contributing to their mass extinction. This documentary deals with the life cycle of bees, highlights the state of the bee population in Slovakia, and tries to appeal to the audience to realise the situation we are currently in. The bees and their plight at the expense of our benefit thus becomes one of many illustrative examples of Mother Nature being decimated by scientific progress. ()
