The Guardians

Rudy and Rennie North were happily enjoying their retirement years in their upscale Las Vegas community. Then a stranger arrived, identified herself as their new guardian and confiscated their lives. The North’s story, among others, is profiled in The Guardians, a documentary that shines light on the legal kidnapping of elderly people. Using court orders, professional for-profit guardians are able to take control of individuals’ healthcare and financial decisions, exerting complete authority, separating individuals from friends, families and spouses and stealing entire estates.
