Evan Cole has a seemingly perfect life: a loving wife, a healthy baby boy, and a meaningful job as a social worker for troubled teens. But Evan has a secret - he violently tortures and kills those who lack his wholesome family values, specifically the family members causing problems for his patients. He hides his compulsion from his wife and son, but concealing his true nature from his overbearing, ever-present mother is harder. For a while, things work out quite conveniently for Evan. A sleek white mansion sits empty and available for Evan’s murderous rendezvous, his students’ problematic family members make themselves easily accessible and readily disposable, and his wife exhibits unending patience for his recurring late-night drives, never questioning her husband’s actions… until an observant detective catches a pattern in the killings that leads him to Evan’s doorstep. angielski This movie was actually quite a disappointment. As a horror thriller, where Stifmeister is both a social worker and serial killer wreaking vengeance for wrongdoings committed on high school students, I expected something more than just simply going through the motions and ticking all the boxes of this premise without adding any extra value. Also, you can not really say that the main character has a good moral compass. Even with some vague plot twists, the movie also tries to appear unnecessarily serious. In the end, Bloodline is a relatively bland, meagre movie. I would like it to have been more light-hearted, with more tension, and even more like a B-movie. But in addition to all that, I want to see Seann William Scott experimenting with the horror movie genre much more. ()
