Oliver (Tom Schilling) jest ciężko pracującym menedżerem, który żyje w zawrotnym tempie. Niestety pewnego dnia mężczyzna powoduje katastrofalny w skutkach wypadek samochodowy i kończy na wózku inwalidzkim. W końcu trafia do Złotej rybki, grupy niepełnosprawnych mieszkających w domu opieki. Kiedy Oliver odkrywa, że świat niebawem dowie się o jego nielegalnych transakcjach finansowych w Zurychu, wpada na genialny pomysł. Postanawia użyć autobusu pełnego osób niepełnosprawnych jako idealnej przykrywki do przemycenia 1,2 miliona euro przez niemiecko-szwajcarską granicę. Szybko jednak jego misternie uknuty plan wymyka się spod kontroli… (HBO)

I didn’t expect anything complicated and I must admit that The Goldfish was a pleasant surprise. An intriguing topic, funny lines, an unusual combination of protagonists with nicely twisted characters who you can’t help but root for. The institution’s final solution had me absolutely gobsmacked.

Although The Goldfish offers nothing innovative within the genre, it is an easy-going and briskly shot comedy with some really funny moments, especially by Luisa Wöllisch and Birgit Minichmayr, so you can forgive the film for its predictability. Alongside the comedy line, there were also a few more serious scenes that were not completely formulaic and felt natural. As a result, the film is between three and four stars for me, but since I had a good time, I'll give it a boost in this case.
