Jenseits des Sichtbaren - Hilma af Klint

An extolled af Klint exhibition is currently taking place at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. And it’s first now that the art world has in actuality begun to accept that it was a woman who “invented” abstract art. This debut documentary not only relates the story of Hilma af Klint’s life and work, but also of a time when society manifested strong cultural currents of spiritism and theosophy. This film also succeeds at cinematically mediating the almost religious mood invoked by af Klint’s unfathomably comprehense and limitlessly fascinating lifework.
