Chorwacja, siedem lat po bankructwie kraju. Świat pogrąża się w chaosie – woda stała się dobrem cenniejszym od ropy naftowej. Ludzie są w stanie dla niej wszczynać wojny, dokonywać podbojów i zniszczeń, a nawet rozprzestrzeniać wirusa zombie. Beztroski Mico (Krešimir Mikic) z Zagrzebia zostaje ugryziony przez zarażoną wirusem partnerkę. Mężczyzna trafia więc do szpitala, gdzie spotyka swoją idolkę – aktorkę Frankę Anic (Hristina Popovic), skinheada Maksa (Dado Ćosić) oraz tajemniczą bizneswoman imieniu Vesna (Tihana Lazović). Wszyscy postanawiają udać się na wieś znajdującą w pobliżu granicy z Bośnią, bo uważają, że tam mają większe szanse na przeżycie. (HBO)

I’m bowing down before the Croatians! I really like these films that deal with squabbles between different nations. And the Balkans has of course been the ideal environment for those for quite some time. Making fun from almost all former Yugoslavia countries doesn’t hurt and it’s nice that it was done by the country who has got the sea out of the Balkan war and the rest of those countries continue to blame it out of jealousy to this day. However, it is clear that a lot of those allusions will be more understandable to the domestic audience rather than to international one. Zombie massacre has also been done better in other films. Anyhow, it’s still a nice try and a solid average zombie movie.

A Croatian-Serbian zombie comedy that takes on the entire Balkans and it's not bad at all. The film is set in the near future where Croatia is seven years post-bankruptcy and clean water is worth more than oil. The most powerful are of course interested in the valuable resource and they unleash a zombie epidemic only in Croatia so they can seizeit. Some of the jokes are decent, but most are more aimed at the Croatian audience, so we don't get everything right. The characters are okay, technically the film OK, the only thing that hurts is that there is practically no gore and the zombie make-up effects aren’t impressive, either, but the effort is there. The film mainly benefits from an original idea and a critique of Croatian-Serbian society.
