Giuliano (Marco Giallini) i Tommaso (Valerio Mastandrea) są przyjaciółmi od blisko trzech dekad. Pierwszy zadomowił się w Rzymie, gdzie pracuje jako aktor. Drugi mieszka w Kanadzie i jest nauczycielem. Mimo dzielących ich różnic, łączy ich bardzo bliska relacja. Giuliano to ekstrawertyk i dusza towarzystwa, Tommaso jest natomiast bardzo nieśmiały. Giuliano kocha życie, ale zdiagnozowano u niego śmiertelną chorobę. Po rocznej walce w końcu decyduje się przerwać leczenie. Wierny przyjaciel wraca do Rzymu, aby pomóc umierającemu przygotować się do ostatniej podróży. (HBO)

"What is the point of killing in the name of God? He'll make do on his own." +++ Tomorrow's a New Day deals with the themes of friendship and death in an unusually fresh way. It addresses fundamental questions with a pleasant perspective, both seriously and unseriously, but certainly not comedically. I thus don't understand the classification in the comedy genre at all. From the very beginning, I watched with some tension, wondering how the story would unfold, and I was pleased that I couldn't predict much in advance. The plot flowed as naturally as life itself. Toward the end, I even cried a little, although there was no cheap wringing of emotions at all. (85%)
