I would never have expected such a stupid and tiresome debasement of Michael Myers and everything he ever stood for in a film signed by John Carpenter and Jamie Lee Curtis. But I lived to see it in full glory, incredulously absorbing one screenwriting kick in the crotch after another. Myers becomes a turncoat in a boring and imbecilic tale that humorously attempts to resolve the very nature of evil and in the process doesn't know what to do with the main characters. I've rarely felt so miserable with a mainstream horror film. At least the violence at the end is quite delicious, though the mind-numbingly dull opening and the wannabe surprising, jarring middle don't save it, of course. Especially the ending, the entire new trilogy doesn't seem to understand what it was originally about. 30 % ()

angielski Better than the previous, superfluous Halloween Kills. Though Michael Myers is sidelined here, the storyline with the new Corey character interestingly relativizes the causes of the origin of absolute evil (the responsibility of the society around us) and functionally parallels Myers himself. When have we ever seen a mainstream Hollywood movie in which the main character, whom we understand and support, develops in this way? It’s a unique and bold approach. That, however, is not to say that I wouldn’t have preferred to see the conclusion of this cult franchise in different hands and conceived differently... ()

angielski I liked it more than the second one, less than the first one, but I liked it. After the second film, the filmmakers didn't have much further to go, so they decided to show that Halloween could be more than just another slasher film, which was a brave decision that I think it worked out. It's got an idea, it's well acted, and while it's obviously another slasher film and doesn't surprise in any way plot-wise, it's not at all off-putting and is actually pleasantly original. ()

angielski Pretty good cameo by Michael Myers. He! Well, if it had been done properly, I might have appreciated such a strange twist in the anticipated "finale of the saga", but it was not done properly. It feels like the origin of a new villain awkwardly grafted into the world of Halloween through oddly behaving characters. I didn't believe them at all, I had a sick feeling about everything, and sometimes the scripted coincidences are ridiculous. Personally, I found "ENDS" a bit less annoying than "KILLS", but I guess it's due to the lowered expectations. ()
