Sprzeciwiała się jej konserwatystka Phyllis Schlafly (Cate Blanchett). Opowiedziana z perspektywy kobiet tamtej ery – zarówno Schlafly, jak i feministek drugiej fali: Glorii Steinem (Rose Byrne), Betty Friedan (Tracey Ullman), Shirley Chisholm (Uzo Aduba), Belli Abzug (Margo Martindale) i Jill Ruckelshaus (Elizabeth Banks) – produkcja pokazuje kulisy wojny kulturowej, która rozegrała się w latach siedemdziesiątych i przyczyniła się do powstania organizacji zwanej Moral Majority oraz raz na zawsze zmieniła krajobraz polityczny w Stanach Zjednoczonych. angielski I don't think that this is really exclusively American stuff for an American audience. After all, the post-war development in the Czech Republic and in the West has many common problems, especially in family law. While in the Czech Republic, at the cost of the Eastern Bloc, the roles of men and women were more or less unified and it was necessary to reconcile the law with customary tradition, the surprisingly progressive West struggled with the neglect of women after the war. Deep problems of views on the shape of the family and the role of women in society have always determined many other things. Nazi Germany lacked women in manufacturing, while the Democratic US allowed women to flourish during the war, but after the war forced them back to the stove more than they would ever have been willing to. Out of this balance of frustration came the retaliation of the 1960s. Betty Friedan's "The Feminine Mystique" should be read by anyone who wants to understand the paradoxes of the modern world. It's not even that much of a problem anymore, we've had a translation of it since 2002. Similarly, in today's globalized world, it should be no problem to understand the significance of the cover of a woman’s magazine with Wonder Woman. For those who are still hesitating, they can enjoy the wonderful performances of Cate Blanchett or Sarah Paulson. ()

angielski It is evident that the premise of this mini-series is solely American and made for Americans. Nevertheless there are a lot of great roles in this series and a lot of actresses that are showing off their acting skills. And that is one of the reasons that I think that it is worth watching this story even though I’m not lover of everything American. Mrs. America is really well produced, according to expectations heavily political and if it wasn’t made into a mini-series consisting of 9 episodes, it would be sufficient as a 2 hour long movie. In the first half of the series I had a feeling that the women were fighting for common sense equality and they are trying to explain that equality is good but only to some extent. No one can expect them to serve mandatorily in the army or to pay alimony to fathers of their children, right? But there is a slight shift in the second half of the series and besides the great performances of Cate Blanchett, Elizabeth Banks, Rose Byrne this series offers one fictional character portrayed by Sarah Paulson which was the best of all. In the end I have to say that even though this series is unnecessarily long, it presents some interesting moments that happened in American history I wasn’t aware of at all and it was worth watching.
