angielski Patryk Vega's latest is another excellent gangster flick that demolished me. Awesome shit! Breath knocked out, hair ripped out, furniture destroyed! The story of the man who tore Poland apart! A madman and bomb maker who had 47 bombings, 110 kidnappings and is also an amphetamine maker. He took over his mother's brothel as a kid and became a young pimp. He single-handedly eliminated rival gangs and becames Poland's enemy number one. I have to say that the opening 40 minutes, where Vega, in an adrenaline-packed pace, presents the life of the “Son of the Devil” took my breath away like nothing I've seen in a long time. I had to take a break and go outside for some air, it was such a ride that I almost couldn't take it. The second half does stray away from the main character (which is a bit of a shame, as the film would have probably flown to the top by now), but interesting things do happen. A gang of young intelligent students-hackers arrive on the scene and start robbing rich people's houses. The only problem arises when they rob the house of the biggest scumbag in Poland, ha-ha!. One of the students is the son of the main detective who is looking for them as well as the Devil. A brilliantly engaging story that simply grabs you by the balls and reliably holds them for two hours. The detective is played by Andrzej Grabowski, a great actor, and there is an interesting use of the biblical story of the Exodus in the script. I also praise the visuals (the bomb blasts look very realistic). All the actors perform to the max, the music is intense, the pace doesn't slacken, the script surprises, and the action is decently uncompromising too, especially in the end. A proper gangster flick, during which I had royal fun and forgot to breathe. This one really suited me like nothing else. 9/10. ()

angielski I enjoy Patryk Vega's movies from the Pitbull series (a lot, actually), but his latest work didn't exactly thrill me. Don't get me wrong, the execution of the action scenes was fantastic as usual, the characters were great (I especially liked the replacement for Tomasz Oświeciński), and the story itself wasn't bad at all. I couldn't help feeling that the dynamic team of screenwriter Patryk and director Vega went a bit overboard this time. At a certain point, everything started to remind me of poorly made overseas thrillers with at least four times the twists and ammunition that only cause bullet holes when it's convenient for the effect. However, when the extras start spraying bullets, the good guys standing in a parallel line just five meters away have nothing to fear. I don't want to criticize the film too much. Despite all these issues, I actually had a great time watching it. However, it's clear that Patryk Vega lost control of himself this time because I know he can do much better when he ignores American methods. / Lesson learned: As a believer, you will never be in a tight spot because HE is watching over you.
