Swan song of director Slavínský and an era of pre-war Czech film, to which The Last Mohican undoubtedly belongs thematically. It was followed by an era of engaged film full of heroic construction and struggle against the agents of imperialism. Of Slavínský's works, I probably like this film the most, it is a decent craft, without such a noticeable calculation and oversweetness compared to Slavínský's films from the 1930s. Moreover, Marvan fits perfectly into the role of an uncompromising family ruler. Overall, it is not demanding, but decently acted and directed - a pleasant return to Czech film history. Overall impression 70%. ()
