A fairly classic Western, which is primarily enhanced by the Technicolor colors. Otherwise, it's a standard story about how one man can cause evil and how Indians can kill. It's quite gritty at times, but really only at times; more emphasis is placed on relationships and unnecessary humor that occasionally shines through.
