angielski I remember Stanislav Rudolf's book very well. Sometime during my teens, I fished it out of the family library, started reading it, and didn't put it down all day. Because of/thanks to the story of the young girl, it made a huge impact on me and I dreamt so intensely about some of the bloody situations that I haven't picked up any of Rudolph's other books since. But they say I can rest easy, because I haven't missed out on anything. I liked the film with one single, but quite significant, reservation, and that is the casting of the lead role. Vlastimil Harapes essentially shouldn't play anything other than characterless slime balls, because those are the only ones that are believable. Casting František Němec in the role would have been a whole different matter... That’s too bad. Otherwise I was satisfied, and I especially liked the charismatic Jan Kačer and Jiří Kodet doctor duo. Three and a half. ()
