angielski Let's face it, this fairy tale has a lot of magic for me because part of it was filmed in Český Krumlov, my beautiful hometown. And, of course, in many other beautiful places. The story is also quite good, but somehow it's not the same anymore, and it's all a bit tiresome. Maybe I should watch "The Princess from the Mill" instead. ()

angielski The beginning of the end of the good Czech fairytales. Hardly watchable rubbish, kept afloat only by the beautiful Michaela Kuklová and a few well executed scenes. Otherwise, awful. ()

angielski I thought it was quite harmless in my elementary school days, but years later the situation has changed somewhat. It sounds like it's badly dubbed. I don't mind that even in crowd scenes, the camera sometimes loses control and the shots end up looking like oddly cropped photos. What bothers me, though, is that Troška forces his characters to behave like absolute idiots, with the one who screams the loudest, runs around the most, and pushes others being crowned as the king. This results in overacting by the actors, lifeless characters, and unbelievable kitsch. It’s loud, unlikable, and... awkward. ()
