angielski Excellent. This series has an advantage that Star Trek did not have. It begins as part of a large whole, it is not episodic in nature, and the pilot miniseries clearly shows that the creators know exactly where to go and how big the portion of Battlestar Galactica should be. Unlike the debut of Star Trek: The Next Generation, this series does not have the incompleteness of characters and the vagueness of their relationships. Here, all the characters make 100% sense from the beginning, supporting side story lines are created, and the main story is adorned with a fantastic apocalyptic atmosphere. Although the dialogues do not deviate in any way from series practice, they are well-suited and the pathetic moments are surprisingly not annoying. Visually, it's perfectly done. The series has a modern camera focus on digital tricks in the style of Star Wars, and very nice ship models. The sound is a delicacy and the soundtrack has a modern exotic touch that adds layers to it. After watching 180 minutes of the miniseries, I know one thing for certain - I want to see this series. I've been waiting for this for quite a few years. ()

angielski A prolog that actually functions only as a prologue and not also as a "standalone unit". A prolog which, in three hours of footage, offers two hours of quality material and an hour of fluff. A prologue which, despite interesting and controversial topics, is too afraid to delve beneath the surface. A prologue in which the most interesting and best-written character is completely destroyed by an actor who turns the character into a caricature with his "acting" performance. A prologue which does not emanate hopelessness, capturing about twenty-four hours during the demise of humankind and everything that defines civilization as such; on the contrary, it feels like it doesn't really concern anyone, like reading in the newspaper at breakfast about all the horrors happening somewhere in Africa... Nevertheless, it is primarily a prologue to a science fiction series, which, with its "anti-space-opera" potential and current themes, definitely whets the appetite for the main course; and therefore fulfils its purpose as a result. angielski What if God decided that He made a mistake? The pilot episode of Galactica is a solid three-hour treat that, with certain plot adjustments, could easily be a standalone feature film. Fortunately, it was destined for me to spend some time with this (un)sympathetic crew. From the beginning, it was clear that the creators thought about all aspects of a proper series, and the strong psyche of the characters is enhanced by a special aura as each hero goes through a real trial by fire as a result of the events. The second triumph is the attractive and captivating mythology. The opponents are shrouded in a veil of mystery and yet give a very dark undertone to the realistic tone. The third key advantage is the theme. The idea of "what would I do if it turned out like this" gets into the head of almost every viewer, and it's only up to them whether they want to see how Starbuck, Apollo, Bill Adama, and others will react. I went along with them and never regretted it. ()
