Dandelion is an achingly beautiful story of sudden catastrophe, hard-won redemption and life-changing love starring Vincent Kartheiser (TV's Angel) and Taryn Manning (Hustle and Flow). Mason Mullich is a teenager coming of age in a world where love seems to have gone missing, where families exist in fragmented silence and change feels all but impossible. What’s interesting about this movie is that it looks very earnest. But also, through sneaky melodies in the background, it invokes this pretty depressing mood, which is fueled by every single character, but also every scene in the screenplay. I definitely think that this is one of the most demanding movies that I’ve seen when it comes to American dramas. Life and the world around it can be cruel sometimes.
