angielski It's fifty-fifty. Karel Roden's negative character is excellent, his character's name is desperate, without invention. The Germans didn't bother me, well, whoever pays gets to play. Jiřina Bohdalová bothered me a lot, she can play like the brightest star, but I think that some movies could do without her. I'm even afraid to lift the toilet lid at home, so she won't screech at me. The fairytale had a pleasantly chilling atmosphere at times, but on the other hand, I sometimes felt like I was watching an American horror movie - all dark, occasional sound. Simply average. ()

angielski I have a soft spot for co-produced fairy tales and this one is no exception. Vorlíček's The Firebird is an ideal adventure film, where the pursuit of completing tasks is mixed with a raw atmosphere and at times very successful acting. The set has that medieval spirit, and the special effects are reminiscent of the classic puppet designs of yesteryear, all while adding something new. The Barrandov costumes are as good as usual, and Soukup's music and collaboration with Lucie Bílá are a pleasant surprise. ()
