In the Atlantic Ocean near Nova Scotia, Sable Island is home to herds of wild horses and the largest colony of grey seals in the world. What is their secret that allows them to increase their number despite adverse conditions related to fishing? Each winter, 80,000 pups are born on the coast of Sable Island. Alongside the team of researchers who work for one of the largest natural laboratories, we set on a journey to explore the fascinating grey seals. Although the fishing industry is booming, the population of seals on Sable Island is growing. Set against the backdrop of breath-taking shots of the beautiful island, the documentary reveals the mysterious games of seal pups, seal diet, and the way they hunt for food. (Academia Film Olomouc)

angielski Life is a struggle, as evidenced by this film about the Sable Island seals, which are indeed abundant on this sickle-shaped landmass. In addition to the purely documentary line, the film also has several attempts to gain new insights using technology, and at the end you are given some interesting information regarding seal food. In addition to the plump pinnipeds, the documentary also makes a passing mention of the local wild horses, which also deserve a shorter documentary probe. ()
