The seventies saw Santo at the top of his game, bringing a harvest of absurdities. In this particular movie the legendary luchador joins forces with a real-life boxing champion José Ángel Nápoles (a.k.a. Mantequilla „Butter“ Nápoles) to break the curse of the evil Crying Woman. Needless to say the make-up and special effects are relentlessly amateurish, but some of the dialogue would make even Luis Buñuel proud. (The Shockproof Film Festival)

The Revenge of the Crying Woman is the most entertaining El Santo movie so far. It is a triumph of childish naivety and bravado in its genre, and the acting is charmingly wooden. In other words, this is a trashy low-budget horror movie for the whole family. [The Shockproof Film Festival 2022]
