Biografia

Shadi Abdel Shalam (1930-1986, Egypt) is a filmmaker, screenwriter and production designer. He moved to England to study theater arts from 1949 to 1950. After that, he also graduated as an architect from the faculty of fine arts in Cairo. He first worked as a production designer for Egyptian films such as Pharaoh (1964) from Jerzy Kawalerowicz. His first feature film was The Mummy (1969). He was also a teacher at the Higher Institute of Cinema in Egypt.
