Tommy Chong

Grammy Award winning comedian Tommy Chong is legendary for his invaluable contribution to comedy and American counterculture as part of the comedy team Cheech & Chong. During their reign, the twosome recorded six gold comedy albums, including the 1974 Grammy winner “Los Cochinos,” and starred in seven films, most of which Chong co-wrote and directed. After UP IN SMOKE, Cheech and Chong starred in a string of successful films that remain huge video rentals and a regular diet of daily television. Chong also wrote the book The I Chong: Meditations from the Joint which is a New York Times Best-Seller. The book chronicles Chong’s arrest for shipping bongs across the country as well as his days in jail and the humorous encounters of his 9 month prison stint. THE I CHONG is a unique chronicle of one man’s life and how his humorous and spiritual point of view saved him during his wrongful incarceration at the hands of an administration without boundaries.

Stage and film are not the only places that you will find Tommy Chong. He has made a guest appearance on ABC’s “Dharma & Greg” in November of 1999, “The George Lopez” show in 2007 and most notably as “Leo” on FOX’s “That 70’s Show”.

Comedian Shelby Chong is known as Tommy Chong’s favorite co-star on the big screen to live stage performances. Fans remember her as the sexy French Fifi in “Things Are Tough All Over”, the Princess in “The Corsican Brothers”, and the blonde body builder that Cheech got choked up over in “Nice Dreams”, with associate producer credits from several CHEECH & CHONG movies. She went on to appear in several other feature films, television, and theatre such as “Tripwire”, “The Spirit of ’76”, “Far Out Man”, and “General Hospital”.

She has been seen on HBO, Comedy Central, and “The Howard Stern Show”. She stepped onto the comedy stage in 1996 during Chong’s world tour as a show opener and has toured every year since. In January 2000, the official announcement was made the Chong had replaced Cheech with a new comedy duo partner, Tommy Chong & Shelby. When performing in a music venue or festival, Chong and the Family Stoned Band featuring sons, Paris and Boo (Gilbran) join Tommy Chong & Shelby on the road taking the audience down memory lane with classic songs from Cheech & Chong.
