Alexander Gutman (b. 1945) graduated from Leningrad Polytechnic (1968) and Moscow's Film School (VGIK, 1978). Since 1971 he has been a cameraman for Moscow, Rostov, Leningrad, and Finnish television. As a cameraman he has shot over 100 films, and 13 as a director. He has won numerous awards at international (e.g. Tampere, Lisbon, Huesca, Pärnu, Houston, Ann Arbor, Brooklyn) and domestic festivals (Yekaterinburg, Moscow). Today he works with the St Petersburg Studio of Documentary Film.
