Gerard McMurray

Gerard McMurray was raised in New Orleans's 7th Ward. Gerard excelled in the arts and earned a scholarship to Howard University in Washington, DC, where he graduated with a BA in film production. Then he headed west to attend USC's School of Cinematic Arts MFA program. Gerard was awarded the DGA African-American Student Filmmaker Award for his film Battle Buddy. After graduating from USC, Gerard worked as a producer on Fruitvale Station.
