Cyril Schäublin studied Film Directing at the DFFB in Berlin, where he graduated in 2012. He has directed the short films Lenny (2009), Portrait (2011), Modern Times (2013) and Il faut fabriquer ses cadeaux (2021). In 2017 he made his feature directorial debut with Dene wos guet geit (Those Who Are Fine, 2017), which premiered at Locarno Festival, where it received a special mention as a debut movie, won the Best Film Award at Edinburgh Festival and was nominated for the European Film Awards in the European Discovery category. Unrueh, his second feature, won the Best Director Award in the Encounters section of the Berlin Festival and Best Film in Jeonju Festival's international competition.
