Biografia
Phyllida Lloyd is especially known for her work as a theatre and opera director. She had her big screen debut in 2008 with the musical comedy Mamma mia!, nominated for two Golden Globes and three BAFTA awards. In 2011 she worked yet again with Meryl Streep to embody Margaret Thatcher in her second feature, The Iron Lady. The part landed Streep the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Actress and the film also received the Academy Award for Best Makeup. Herself was presented internationally at Sundance Festival and later won the Mychael Dwyer Discovery and Human Rights Film awards at Dublin Festival.
