Zdeněk Novotný-Bričkovský

Zdeněk Bričkovský (1968) studied film direction at FAMU in Prague and graduated in 1996. In 1999 he established DÓMfilm, a company which produces documentary films. His work chiefly focuses on the small, little known nations of Europe and Asia, their traditions, religions and ordinary way of life. Through his documentaries he seeks to hand over this disappearing ancient legacy to the present. To date he has made around 26 documentary films. Selection: Legend of the Bird's Egg (Legenda o ptačím vejci, 2005), Descent from the Mountain of Dreams (Sestup z hory snů, 2004), Story of the Mythical Land of Bumba (Příběh o bájné zemi Bumba, 2002), Svetlojar – Sacred Lake (Svetlojar – posvátné jezero, 2001), Patrick's Irish Pilgrimage (Irská pouť Patrikova, 1996).
