Thomas Vinterberg

Thomas Vinterberg (b. 1969, Copenhagen) shot his first film at age 16, and three years later he was accepted to the National Film School of Denmark. In 1995 he and Lars von Trier came out with the Dogme 95 manifesto, and Vinterberg’s second feature, The Celebration, (Festen, 1998), shot according to the rules of the manifesto, took the Jury Prize at the Cannes IFF.
