Andrés Baiz

Andrés Baiz was born in Cali, Colombia. Graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, with a major in Cinema Studies. After graduating he was mentored by French director Raphael Nadjiri, with whom he produced 4 horror short films. He then worked for the video production company Centro-Films as producer, director and editor for 2 years. He returned to Colombia after working in the production department of two films: The Fittest (Crook Brothers) and Maria Full of Grace (Joshua Marston). He directed the short film Hoguera in his native hometown. Satanás (2007), which is based on Mario Mendoza’s best selling novel, is his debut feature film.
