Damián Szifrón (b. Ramos Mejía, Buenos Aires, Argentina) earned a degree in film studies from Universidad del Cine in the Argentine capital. In the years 2002-2003 he produced, wrote and directed two seasons of the award-winning series "Pretenders" ("Los simuladores") which was later bought by Sony International, who produced versions for Mexican, Chilean, Russian and Spanish audiences.
