Biografia

This French actor started his career in cinema at 17, when he was discovered by a casting director during a rugby game in Agen. Overnight he became one of the main characters of André Téchiné’s film Les Roseaux Sauvages where he played a mysterious teenager. His performance deserved a nomination for César award to the best revelation actor. His cast fellow Gaël Morel relied on him for a part in his first feature film A toute vitesse (1995) where Stéphane Rideau incarnated a confused, instinctive and violent young man. Between 1995 and 1997 he made some works for television and the movie Mauvais Genre (1997), by Laurent Bénégui. After Sitcom (1998), directed by François Ozon, Ca ne se refuse pas (1998), by Eric Woreth and Les Passagers (1999), by Jean-Claude Guiguet, in 2000 he co-starred with Jérémie Elkaïm in Sébastien Lifshitz’s Presque Rien, a drama about a summer love affair between two young men which was an international success. He left the stress of Paris and returned to Agen limiting his appearances in the screen. In 2001 he worked again with Téchiné in the film Loin, and in 2004 with his friend Gaël Morel in the film Le Clan, the story of two brothers in which the elder one dissapoints the younger one. He has also worked in several short films and television films. He made two films under the direction of Frédéric Graziani, Le Cadeau d’Elena (2004), y En roue libre (2005).
