Josu Martínez is a professor at the University of the Basque Country, doctor in Audiovisual Communication and historian in Basque cinema. He has co-directed with Txaber Larreategi the documentaries Sagarren denbora (2010) and Prohibido recordar (2010), shown in Zinemira, and together they participated in the anthology documentary Barrura begiratzeko leihoak (2012). Martínez has also directed the documentaries Itsasoaren Alaba (2009), Gure Sor lekuaren bila (2015) and Jainkoak ez dit barkatzen (2018), all shown at San Sebastian, and short films including Ama (2018), which was part of the Kimuak catalogue.
