He studied screenplay writing at Université du Québec à Montreal (2000). He also made cinematographic studies at Université de Montréal (2003), where he directed two short fiction films. Comme une image (2002) and Placebo (2002) were both presented at the 2003 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. In 2004, he delivered, at the age of 23, his first 35 mm short called Le Pont, the first of a shorts trilogy called Les Affluents. The film was seen a lot in festivals around the world and was given three awards. In 2008 he wrote and directed La Battue.
