Biografia

Born in 1982, Anne Émond is a Montreal-based screenwriter and filmmaker. In 2005, she achieved a Bachelor Degree in Film production from Université du Québec à Montréal. She has written and directed seven short films. During the 2009 Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois, she was awarded with the Coop Vidéo Award for Best Direction for her short film L'ordre des choses. That same year, the film was also nominated for the Best Short Film Jutra Award.

Naissances was selected for Canada's Top Ten 2009 Palmares, and won the prize for Best Narrative Short Film at the last edition of the Brooklyn International Film Festival. In 2010, Sophie Lavoie won the prize for Best Short Film at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma. Anne Émond's cinema explores the depths of the human soul. Love, death, youth and loneliness are the core of her work.
