Tudor Giurgiu

He is a member of the European Film Academy, Eisenhower Fellow in 2014, founder and president of the Transylvania Film Festival and precursor of the National Film Awards in Romania. He studied at the Bucharest Film Academy and was assistant director for Lucian Pintilie and Radu Milheanu. He also directed numerous commercials, video clips and short films, including Superman, Spiderman or Batman, which won Best Short Film at the European Film Awards in 2012. His debut feature Love Sick was screened at the Berlinale's Panorama section in 2006, and his second film, Of Snails and Men, won the Special Jury Prize in Warsaw and the Valladolid Meeting Point Section. His third film Why Me? premiered at the Berlinale in 2015, winning awards at a number of festivals. He has produced and co-produced films by authors such as Peter Strickland, Eran Ricklis, Fanny Ardant, Manuel Martín Cuenca and Radu Milheanu.
