Biografia

Santiago Mitre co-directed, in 2004, with Alejandro Fadel, Martín Mauregui and Juan Schnitman El amor - Primera parte / Love (Part One), screened at the BAFICI and at the Critics' Week in Venice. His first solo feature film, El estudiante (The Student, 2011), received the Special Jury Prize in Locarno and at the BAFICI. In 2015, his second film, Paulina, won awards including the FIPRESCI Prize and the Semaine de la Critique Grand Prix in Cannes and the Horizontes Award in San Sebastian. He returned to Cannes, this time as part of Un Certain Regard, with La cordillera (The Summit, 2017), the movie chosen in San Sebastian to celebrate the Donostia Award going to Ricardo Darín. In 2022 he has also premiered his fourth feature film, Petite fleurArgentina, 1985 won the FIPRESCI Prize at the Venice Festival.
