Linda Emond's film work includes Nora Ephron's Oscar nominated Julie & Julia, in which she plays Simone 'Simca' Beck opposite Meryl Streep; Noah Buschel's mystery, The Missing Person; Stop-Loss,with Ryan Phillippe and Joseph Gordon-Levitt directed by Kimberly Peirce; the crime-thriller Trade, with Kevin Kline; Across the Universe, directed by Julie Taymor; Niki Caro's North Country, starring Charlize Theron; Dark Water, directed by Walter Salles; The Dying Gaul, directed by Craig Lucas; and City By the Sea, starring Robert De Niro and directed by Michael Caton-Jones.
Television film work includes Georgia O'Keeffe, with Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons and directed by Bob Balaban; Hallmark Hall of Fame's A Dog Named Christmas, opposite Bruce Greenwood; and American Experience: John & Abigail Adams, opposite Simon Russell Beale. Episodic work includes recurring roles on The Good Wife and Elementary, appearances on Unforgettable, The Sopranos, Gossip Girl, and multiple episodes on all four Law & Orders.
For her work on stage, Linda has been nominated for two Tony Awards, received an Obie Award, the Lucille Lortel Award, an Outer Critics Circle Award, a Backstage West Garland Award, multiple Chicago Jeff Awards, and nominations for the Drama Desk, Drama League, LA Drama Critics and LA Ovation Awards.
On Broadway, she appeared in Death of a Salesman, opposite Philip Seymour Hoffman and Andrew Garfield, directed by Mike Nichols; Life x 3, with John Turturro, Helen Hunt, and Brent Spiner; and in 1776, opposite Mr. Spiner and Pat Hingle.
Off-Broadway, she appeared opposite Al Pacino in The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, and in the premieres of pieces by Craig Lucas, Yasmina Reza, Kander and Ebb, A. R. Gurney, Peter Hedges, and Tony Kushner. Her work as The Homebody, in Kushner's Homebody/Kabul, spanned five years and three productions. In 2011 she premiered Kushner's latest piece, The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures, in the role of Empty, which was written for her.
